Antalya Airport (AYT) is the third biggest airport in Turkey and the primary airport for its Mediterranean Coast and the various holiday destinations nearby.

The airport is located 13 kilometers northeast of Antalya's city center. It experiences a boom in international visitors in the summertime when many charter flights bring European and Russian holidaymakers to the Turkish Riviera.

Antalya Airport is one of the biggest airports in the Middle East and is often among the top 50 busiest airports worldwide.

In 2024, Antalya Airport handled over 38 million passengers, ranking as the third busiest airport in Turkey after Istanbul Airport (IST) and Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW), also in Istanbul.

Major Airlines - SunExpress, Pegasus Airlines

The Turkish-German-owned SunExpress uses Antalya Airport as its primary hub of operation. It offers scheduled regular and seasonal charter flights to over 70 destinations and is undisputably the biggest airline at the airport.

Pegasus Airlines, Turkey’s biggest low-cost airline, uses Antalya Airport as a major hub for its operations. It offers many domestic flights to big cities in Turkey and international flights to destinations in Europe, the Caucasus, and the Middle East.

Turkish Airlines also flies from Antalya Airport - both scheduled flights and seasonal charters in the summer.

Other airlines that use Antalya as a base include Corendon Airlines, Freebird Airlines, AJet, and Southwind Airlines.

Many full-service airlines, such as Qatar Airways, Azerbaijan Airlines, Aeroflot, and SWISS connect Antalya Airport with the world.

Terminal Layout of Antalya Airport

Antalya Airport has 3 terminals: two for international flights and one for domestic flights.

  • Terminal 1: Primarily handles international flights. It is the terminal with the most flights and the oldest at Antalya Airport.

  • Terminal 2: Also serves international routes but mostly seasonal charter flights during the peak tourist season. It’s the terminal with the most amenities and the most modern facilities.

  • Domestic Terminal (Terminal 3): Dedicated to domestic flights within Turkey.

Terminals 1 and 3 are in the same building but have separate entrances. You can walk between the terminals.

Terminal 2 is some 3 km away, connected to T1 by a free bus service.

Wifi at Antalya Airport

Internet is available at all terminals of Antalya Airport. The wifi network bears the same name as the airport.

Unfortunately, access is only free for the first 30 minutes, after which you need to purchase an access code from one of the WI-FI Kiosk points.

Lounges at Antalya Airport

Antalya Airport offers a total of 4 VIP lounges. They are open to premium fliers on qualifying airlines and certain credit card holders but also to anyone who pays the entrance fee.

  • VIP Lounge Terminal 1: Located post-security near the duty-free area, this lounge offers hot and cold beverages, snacks, and a comfortable seating area. It operates 24 hours daily but only from May until October.

  • VIP Lounge Terminal 2: Situated on the third floor after security, this lounge provides similar amenities and remains open 24/7 throughout the year.

  • CIP Lounge Domestic Terminal: Found near Gate 7 on the second floor, this lounge is only available to domestic travelers. It is open 24/7 but serves hot food only between 10 AM and 10 PM.

  • Turkish Airlines CIP lounge in Terminal 1: A small, cozy lounge on the second floor in the Departures area. Entry is available to Premium Pass holders and includes snacks, drinks, and comfortable armchairs.

Transport to and from Antalya Airport

The airport is well connected to the city and you have multiple transportation options to reach the central areas:

  • Bus: City bus routes 600 and 800 connect the airport to the main bus station in Antalya (Otogar) and the Lara district respectively.

  • Tramway: The Antalya Tramway has recently been extended to the airport. The Orange line goes to the central areas of the city with services every 15-20 minutes.

  • Havaş Shuttles: These shuttle services link the airport to other tourist destinations in the region such as Alanya, Kemer, and Manavgat. The timetables are generally adjusted to match flight arrival and departure times. These shuttles stop near the taxi stands.

  • Taxis: Available 24/7 outside each terminal. The price to the city is around 8-12 EUR depending on distance and the value of the Turkish Lira. The journey duration is around 30 minutes.

  • Car Rentals: Major car rental companies, including Hertz, Avis, and Europcar, have counters located directly behind the baggage claim area, with vehicles parked in a large open-air lot.

Parking

Antalya Airport provides short-term parking spaces directly in front of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Parking there is free for the first 15 minutes.

The parking areas are located just a 3-minute walk from their respective terminals and you don’t need a shuttle.

The terminal driveway has an entry/exit zone and is suitable for quick drop-offs and pick-ups of passengers.

Hotels near Antalya Airport

There are no on-site hotels within the airport complex but a few hotels nearby serve those wishing to be near the airport for early flights or after late arrivals.

The closest option is IC Hotels Airport, about 1.8 km from Terminal 1. The hotel offers comfortable rooms, a fitness and spa center with a hammam and shuttle services to and from the terminals.

Lara Garden Butik Hotel: Situated a short drive away, this boutique hotel provides cozy accommodations and is known for its hospitable service.
