Bristol Airport (BRS) is an international airport serving the city of Bristol and the surrounding region in South West England.
The airport is located about 8 miles southwest of Bristol city center. It offers flights to over 100 destinations across Europe and beyond, served mostly by low-budget airlines and seasonal holiday charter flights.
In 2024, Bristol Airport handled over 10 million passengers, ranking as the 8th in the UK, just behind Birmingham Airport (BHX).

Major Airlines - Ryanair, Jet2.com, easyJet
Bristol Airport is an operating base for four airlines, three of which are large low-cost players in the British market. They are:
easyJet: The British low-cost giant flies scheduled flights to over 30 destinations with more added during the summer season.
Ryanair: This Irish ultra-low-cost airline will have you flying to airports big or small across Europe.
Jet2.com: Operates flights to many seaside destinations in Spain, Greece, Cyprus, and others. It greatly increases capacity during the summer season.
TUI Airways: A popular holiday airline with scheduled and charter flights to destinations across Southern Europe.
The airport also welcomes a few international carriers such as KLM, which flies direct to Amsterdam (AMS), and SWISS, which offers seasonal flights to Zurich (ZRH).

Terminal Layout and Gates
Bristol Airport operates a single terminal equipped with 50 check-in desks and 18 departure gates.
Currently, these gates do not feature jet bridges. Boarding the aircraft is via stairs or buses.
Bristol Airport has unveiled an extensive £400 million renovation project for the next five years. It aims to expand the terminal by 70% to meet the increased demand for air travel.
Wi-Fi at BRS
Wi-Fi is available in all areas of Bristol Airport. To connect, select the network BRS Airport WiFi on your device and follow the on-screen prompts to connect. Enter your email or phone number and you will be good to go.
The free initial connection is limited to 2 hours. After that, you can add another 3 hours of unlimited data for 5 GBP.
Connecting Flights and Transit
Bristol Airport is not a transit airport.
This means there is no airside transit service and all transits are the responsibility of the traveler.
If you have two flights connecting at Bristol, you will need to follow the usual arrivals procedures. This means you will have to clear Immigration and Customs and collect any luggage.
Then, proceed to the Departure Lounge, check-in for your next flight, and drop off any luggage. After that, go through Security again and find your new gate.

Restaurants and bars at Bristol Airport
Bristol Airport is a relatively small airport though it still houses several places to eat or have a drink before your flight.
Some of the dining options you have at BRS are:
Cafe Ritazza: Grab a cup of coffee and the day’s newspaper at this unassuming coffee house before Security.
Tortilla: Get a taste of Mexican cuisine at this restaurant after Security.
Brunel Bar: A great place to sit down for a drink or one of its signature dishes. Located after Security.
Frankie and Benny's: If you fancy Italian-American food, this is the perfect relaxing environment for it. Located airside.
SOHO Coffee Co. and Starbucks provide the caffeine fix in the Security area of the airport.
Lounges at Bristol Airport
As of 2025, Bristol Airport has only a single airport lounge: the Aspire Lounge.

You can easily take a taxi to your destination. Arrow Cars is the dedicated taxi service on-site at Bristol Airport. They operate a fleet of air-conditioned estate cars and are available 24 hours a day. The booking desk is located within the covered walkway linking the terminal to the Express Drop Off & Pick-up car park. A quick trip to the city will set you back around 25 GBP.
Last but not least, if you’d like a more independent option, you can hire a car at one of the rental companies based in the Car Rental Centre at the airport. It is located just a short shuttle bus ride from the terminal. The big names, such as SIXT, Europcar, and Avis, to name a few, have offices there.
