Catania–Fontanarossa Airport (CTA, also known as “Vincenzo Bellini Airport”) is located about 4 kilometers southwest of Catania, Sicily's second-largest city. Despite that, the airport is the biggest on the island and one of the busiest in Italy.
The airport receives many domestic flights daily and serves frequent international flights to destinations in Europe. It experiences a peak in air traffic during the European summer with many seasonal charters added to the list of flights between June and September.
Major Airlines - ITA Airways, Ryanair, Wizz Air, easyJet
Italy’s flag carrier, ITA Airways, operates one of the busiest routes in Europe: Rome-Fiumicino to Catania-Fontanarossa as well as scheduled flights to Milan-Linate.
Still, low-cost carriers such as Wizz Air, easyJet, and Ryanair, offer flights to the most destinations.
Traditional airlines, including Lufthansa, KLM, and Turkish Airlines, connect Catania-Fontanarossa to numerous big cities in Europe and the Middle East too.

Terminals at Catania-Fontanarossa Airport
Catania Airport has 2 functioning terminals: A and C. Somewhat confusingly, Terminal B is not operational at the moment.
Terminal A is the main terminal for both domestic and international flights. It has 22 gates in total, 3 of which for non-Schengen flights. The terminal is compact and the gates are within a short walking distance from the central waiting area.
Terminal C is located a mere 300 meters from Terminal A and is exclusively used by the low-cost airline easyJet. Its 6 check-in desks and 5 boarding gates make it a tiny terminal with few facilities.

Dining Options
Catania Airport is small and the dining options on site are limited. There are a few quick-service outlets in Terminal A and just 1 option in Terminal C.
Some of the dining options are:
Bontà: high-quality café-patisserie in Terminal A.
La Terrazza: a lounge bar for Sicilian food, wine, and fresh pastries in Terminal A.
Scirocco: a small traditional bakery selling typical Sicilian sweet and savory products in Terminal A.
Antica Focacceria – San Francesco: authentic Sicilian food in Terminal C.
Lounges
If you’re an ITA Airlines premium passenger, you can check out ITA Lounge “Piazza Vincenzo Bellini”, situated before Security (landside).
It’s a small lounge with simple but delightful offerings: small sandwiches, lots of snacks, cookies, and a wide variety of drinks (but non-alcoholic).
The other lounge at the airport, VIP Lounge "Angelo D'Arrigo", is located airside, between gates 5 and 6. It is currently closed for expansion work.
