Larnaca International Airport (LCA) is the main international gateway to Cyprus.
The airport is located 8 km south of central Larnaca. It takes just 15 minutes to reach the city center. Getting to the capital, Nicosia, takes around 45 minutes by car.

LCA handles 9-10 million passengers annually with pronounced seasonality due to European leisure travel in the summer. The island, and by extension the airport, is busy between May and October but much calmer and quieter during colder months (November to April).
Major Airlines - Wizz Air, Cyprus Airways
Larnaca Airport is the main hub of Cyprus Airways, the flag carrier of the country. The airline flies year-round to major destinations in Europe and the Middle East, such as Athens, Dubai, Milan, Paris, and Tel Aviv.
Also with a hub at LCA is Aegean Airlines, which flies between Larnaca and the largest cities in Greece (Athens, Heraklion, Thessaloniki, and others).

Nonetheless, Larnaca Airport is dominated by low-cost carriers. Wizz Air is the airline with the most flights and offers the most direct routes. EasyJet is a close second, with a focus on connecting Western Europe and the UK to Cyprus.
Most airlines operate only seasonal charters during the summer. Larger carriers include Buzz, Enter Air, Eurowings, HiSky, Jet2.com, Jettime, Norwegian Air Shuttle, Scandinavian Airlines, Smartwings, Sunclass Airlines, and TUI Airways.

Terminal Layout and Gates
Larnaca operates from a single terminal that opened in 2009.
It’s spread over 2 levels, standard for most modern airports:
Ground floor for Arrivals.
First floor for Departures.

The security screening is centralized - the same checkpoint for all flights. Note that at the time of writing, Cyprus is not part of the Schengen area. The layout will change when this happens (projected to sometime in 2026) to include a common area for all Schengen flights and an Immigration checkpoint leading to a separate area for extra-Schengen flights.
Currently, the terminal contains 48 gates. The farthest of them can be reached in under 10 minutes from the Security Checkpoint.
The airport is open 24 hours.
Layovers at Larnaca Airport are rare, as most flights are point-to-point. Still, the airport allows for easy transfers via an international transit area. Follow the "Connecting Flights" signs after disembarking and clear Security, after which go to your next gate. You don’t need to go through Immigration.

Transport to and from Larnaca Airport
The cheapest way to get to the center of Larnaca is to take one of the public buses. Lines 407, 425, 429, 430, 431, 432 all go to different places within the city, while Line 446 is a night bus on route to Larnaca Central Bus Station, which only runs on Thursday and Friday nights (Friday and Saturday early mornings).
The exact routes are available online, as well as on the information board next to the bus stop at the airport.
Single tickets cost 2.40 EUR, purchasable in advance or from the driver (in cash only). Day passes, multi-journey tickets, and other types of tickets that make travel even cheaper are available from the Arrivals desk, where you can also pay by card.
Taxis are available at any time during the day at the designated waiting area curbside, on the right as you exit the Arrivals Hall. Prices are fixed, depending on the destination. For example, the short 15-minute trip to the Larnaca city centre costs 15 EUR (daytime) or 20 EUR (nighttime).
To reach other cities on the island, for example, Nicosia, Agia Napa, Limassol, or Paphos, it’s cheapest to go to Larnaca Central Bus Station and transfer to an intercity bus there. There are some direct services from LCA to these cities, but they are way less frequent and more expensive.
A popular way to explore Cyprus is by car. You can rent a vehicle directly at Larnaca Airport. from one of the local or international car rental companies with desks in the Arrivals Hall. These include Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar, Sixt, Astra, and Petsas.
Parking at Larnaca Airport
Larnaka airport has a drop-off zone located opposite the main entrances to the terminal on the Departures Level. It allows you to stop quickly for 1 minute to drop off passengers free of charge.
Similarly, if you’d like to pick up passengers, you can wait in P2, located opposite the Terminal, for a small charge of 1 EUR for up to 20 minutes.
Official parking is offered in the following zones:
Short Stay parking zone (P2): most convenient and closest parking lot to the terminal, only a short walking distance away from the entrances. Uncovered.
Long Stay covered parking zone (P4): not far from the entrances and protected from the elements.
Long Stay uncovered parking zone (P1, P3, P5): the lowest-cost option, just a few minutes walking distance from the terminal.
You will get the best rates if you pre-book your stay on the official parking booking platform.
Prices start at 4 EUR for the first hour in P1, P2, P3, and P5 or 7 EUR in P4. The daily rates are lowest in P5 - 10 EUR for the first day and 4 EUR for each additional day. In P4 (covered, long-term), the first day of parking costs 17 EUR and each additional day costs 15 EUR.
Hotels near Larnaca Airport
There are no hotels at or near the airport.
The closest accommodation option is a small guesthouse called Vasilis House, located in the nearby town of Dromolaxia, some 3.5 km away from the terminal.
Given the availability of taxis during the day and the taxi’s fixed rate regardless of distance within Larnaca at night, it’s better to pick a hotel in the city instead.
Many travelers go straight to their final destination in Agia Napa, Limassol, or Nicosia, too.
