Luxembourg Airport (LUX), formerly known as Luxembourg Findel Airport, is the sole international airport in Luxembourg.
The airport is situated 6 kilometers east of Luxembourg City, the nation’s capital. It is a small airport by passengers served - only just over 5 million in 2024. However, it is a major cargo hub consistently ranking in the top 10 leading cargo airports in Europe.
Major Airlines - Luxair, Ryanair, TAP Air Portugal
Luxembourg Airport is a hub for 5 airlines, of which only Luxair, the national carrier, is a passenger airline, while the rest are either cargo or air rescue airlines.
Luxair flies regular services to European cities and over 3 dozen seasonal charter flights, mostly to seaside resorts in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The low-cost airlines Ryanair and easyJet also offer flights from LUX to big airports on the Old Continent.
Notable full-service international airlines at LUX include Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, LOT Polish Airlines, and British Airways. Interestingly, TAP Air Portugal serves the most international passengers yearly at the airport.

Terminal Layout of LUX
Luxembourg Airport has two terminals:
Terminal A is the main terminal of the airport which in its present form dates to 2008. It handles most of the scheduled passenger flights.
Terminal B was initially opened in 2004 and then reopened in 2017 after renovations. It has only gates, no check-in counters, and barely any facilities. It can only handle smaller aircraft on regional routes. It has no jetbridges, nor buses - everything is done on foot.
A footbridge connects Terminal A to Terminal B.

Wi-Fi at Luxembourg Airport
Luxembourg Airport offers free wifi called "lux-Airport Free Wi-Fi".
Connect to the network and accept the terms of use. There is no registration or extra information required. The wifi is available throughout both terminals.
Dining Options at LUX
As a relatively small airport, Luxembourg doesn’t have many restaurants or cafes on the premises. Nonetheless, you will be able to choose from a few dining options.
In Terminal A, there are:
Moselier Bar in the Schengen Area serves warm food and snacks.
Panopolis, also in the Schengen Area, sells sandwiches and other fast food.
Petit Moselier in the Non-Schengen Area is your go-to place for sandwiches if traveling out of Europe.
In Terminal B, in the Schengen Area, you will find the Lux-Brewery bar.
You have several other options in the public area of the airport (landside, before Security), such as Oberweis Shop and Starbucks Coffee in Departures and Sandwich and Cie in Arrivals.
Lounges
The Lounge by Luxair is the only lounge at the airport. It’s open from 4 AM (the time the airport officially opens too) to the last scheduled departure of the day (around 8-9 PM).
The lounge is accessible by anyone flying with Luxair, even in economy, and offers complimentary beverages, snacks, and hot food plus air conditioning and wifi.

Transportation to and from the airport
You have a variety of ways to reach the airport or get to the city. It’s not too far to drive from neighboring Belgium, France, or Germany either.
Perhaps the easiest way to get to Luxembourg City from the airport is by public bus. Routes 6, 16, and 29 go to the capital. Regional bus line 302 goes to the town of Trier in Germany.
As of March 2025, the Tram is another convenient option for travel between the airport and the city. The airport sits on one end of Line 1 while the other is Stadion, with another 22 stops in between.
Note that public transport in Luxembourg is entirely free.
Other than that, taxis are available at the airport, waiting in front of the terminal buildings. Editus and Yellow are the two biggest companies. A trip to the city center takes around 15 minutes and costs 30-40 EUR.
Car rental companies also operate at the airport. Avis, Budget, Hertz, SIXT, or any of the other 5+ companies, take your pick in the Arrivals area.
