Rhodes International Airport “Diagoras” (RHO) is the main airport of the Greek island of Rhodes.
The airport is located near Paradisi village, 14 km southwest of Rhodes Town. The island is the largest of the Dodecanese group and is one of Greece’s most popular holiday destinations.
Hence, Rhodes Airport is almost entirely a leisure gateway and passenger numbers rise sharply during the high summer season between April and October, when it receives many charter and seasonal flights from across Europe.
In 2025, Rhodes Airport handled over 7 million passengers, making it Greece’s fourth busiest.
Major Airlines - Aegean Airways, Sky Express, Olympic Air
Only three carriers provide scheduled services at RHO throughout the year:
Aegean Airways, the national carrier, flies between Rhodes and the three larger airports in Greece - Athens, Thessaloniki, and Heraklion (Crete). It also offers several seasonal routes and seasonal charters.
Sky Express is the second-largest Greek airline and flies between Rhodes and several other domestic airports, including Kos, Chios, Lemnos, Heraklion, Athens, and others.
Olympic Air is a regional airline, a subsidiary of Aegean Airways, that uses Rhodes as a hub for its operations throughout the Dodecanese and Crete.

Rhodes Airport experiences a boom in flight traffic after May every year. Most airlines only fly to/from Rhodes during the summer, and charter operators open new routes.
Key carriers during the summer include:
Condor, Eurowings, and Corendon Airlines for the German market
Jet2 and TUI Airways for the British market.
Neos for the Italian market.
Volotea and Transavia for the French market.
Scandinavian Airlines and Norwegian Air Shuttle for the Nordics.
easyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, and others for the low-cost market throughout Europe.
Larger, legacy carriers that offer seasonal flights to Rhodes include Air France, British Airways, Austrian Airlines, Finnair, ITA Airways, and SWISS, among others.

Terminal Layout and Gates
Rhodes Airport has just one terminal handling both Schengen and non-Schengen flights, divided into two buildings, connected by a corridor.
Gates, shops, Immigration, and Customs are located on the first floor. Arrivals are on the ground floor. Departures and Security are spread on both levels.
There are a total of 12 Security lanes, utilized during peak periods. Boarding is via buses through 18 gates.
The terminal is generally easy to navigate, but it may feel overcrowded during the summer, especially during early mornings when bottlenecks occur due to a large number of flights.

Free wi-fi and other services
Rhodes Airport offers free Wi-Fi via the “Fraport-Free” network. Once selected, open your browser, which will automatically launch the welcome page where you can connect. The connection lasts 2 hours, but you can just as easily reconnect afterwards.
Other passenger services at RHO include:
Charging stations equipped with wireless chargers, a USB hub with multiple ports and sockets located in the check-in area (landside), Departures (airside), and Arrivals (near belt 3).
ATMs provided by Eurobank (public area), Euronet (airside), and Cashflex (landside Departures).
Currency exchange: OneXchange has a desk landside in Arrivals.
Lost luggage: The office at the airport is operated by the Police; contact them on +30 22410 82249 or [email protected].

"The Lounge" Rhodes: A chic lounge for intra-Schengen travelers, also open from March to November, daily from 7 AM to midnight. This lounge accepts various membership passes, including Priority Pass, Lounge Pass, Lounge Key, and Dragon Pass.
Dining Options at RHO
Overall, Rhodes Airport presents a limited number of choices when it comes to dining. The airport’s focus is clearly on places that offer quick pre-flight meals, bistros, fast food, and bakeries, with few upscale sit-down restaurants.
Here are some of the places you can get something to eat or drink from at RHO:
Everest: A well-known Greek sandwich and pastries chain that also offers outstanding coffee. Located in the public area of Departures.
Burger King: Familiar fast-food option if youlike flame-grilled burgers. Located in the Schengen area of Departures (accessible to all, before crossing Immigration).
Bistro dei Cavalieri: Offers traditional Italian pizzas, panini, Greek wines, and more. Has 2 locations for Schengen and extra Schengen passengers, respectively.
Cosmopolitan: A bistro serving delicious food and refreshing beverages in the public area of Departures.
Cup&Plate: Offers classic Greek food like gyros, souvlaki, and bougatsa, paired with coffee or soft drinks. Has a location in each the Schengen and non-Schengen departure areas.
Goody's Burger House: A modern place for classic as well as unique burgers. Located in the non-Schengen area.
French Bakery: Offers exquisite pastries for each meal of the day. Located in the Schengen Departures area.
Transport to and from the airport
A RODA public bus connects the airport with Rhodes Town. It stops about 300 meters from the entrance to the terminal building and terminates at the Rhodes Central Bus Station on Averof Street, taking around 35 minutes. This bus departs every 30 minutes in each direction, between 05:15 and 23:30, with single tickets priced at 3.50 EUR.
At Rhodes Bus Station, you can change to a bus bound for Ixia - Ialissos, Kremasti, Pastida, Maritsa, Paradisi, Damatria, Theologos, Soroni, Fanes, Kalavarda, Salako, Empona, Butterflies Valley, and other towns, villages, and beaches across the island.

An alternative to the bus is to take a taxi outside the terminal. The taxi stands are right in front of Arrivals. A ride to Rhodes Town usually takes around 30-35 minutes with fixed fares to Rhodes Town of around 30 EUR.
Car rental is extremely popular in Rhodes, allowing you to more conveniently explore the island. Several international and local agencies operate desks in the Arrivals area, including Auto Holidays, Avance, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, and Sixt.
Parking near Rhodes Airport
Rhodes Airport provides two lots, one for short-term and one for long-term parking, operated by FastCarPark.
The first 20 minutes in either lot are gratis.
In the short-term parking lot, the first hour costs 6 EUR, and additional hours are less, up to a daily limit of 17 EUR and a weekly limit of 59 EUR. Additional days cost 7 EUR. The short-term lot is located just 30 meters away, opposite the terminal.

The long-term parking lot is more suitable if you need to leave your vehicle for several days. It is a short distance away from the terminal, served by a complimentary shuttle every 20 minutes. Parking here also costs 6 EUR for the first hour but only 15 EUR for the first day, with a weekly maximum of 45 EUR and 5 EUR for additional days thereafter.
The long-term parking is entirely cashless.
Hotels near Rhodes Diagoras Airport
There is no hotel inside the terminal or directly connected to it. Given RHO’s role as a leisure airport and the relatively small size of the airport, few travelers stay near it even for early flights or after a late arrival.
The nearby village of Paradisi has a few accommodation options if you want to be within walking distance of the terminal.
For example, Casa Terrazzo offers charming holiday vacation rentals just 800 meters from the terminal entrance.
Another option is the Old House Hotel, which offers traditional, warm, and clean rooms about 1 km from the terminal.
Most resort hotels along the west and east coasts of Rhodes are easily reachable by taxi, rental car, or public bus with a change in Rhodes Town. The town itself offers a wider range of accommodation and is a popular base.
