Jeju International Airport (CJU) is the second-busiest airport in South Korea after Seoul Incheon (ICN). It handles more than 29 million passengers yearly, largely driven by domestic tourism.
The airport is located just 4 km northwest of Jeju City, on the namesake subtropical island just south of Mainland South Korea. CJU is the only airport on Jeju Island with commercial flights.
Jeju Airport is particularly known for serving the world’s busiest air route between Jeju and Seoul (Gimpo), with flights operating every few minutes throughout the year. More than 40% of all flights originating from Jeju are bound for Seoul.

Together, these airlines operate the bulk of the routes to and from Jeju. Domestic routes include Seoul (Gimpo), Busan, Daegu, Cheongju, and others.
There are fewer international routes, but there are frequent direct flights to cities in China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore.

Terminal Layout and Gates
Jeju Airport has two terminals, one for domestic traffic and one for international.
Domestic Terminal: Significantly larger and busier of the two. More than 80% of flights at Jeju Airport are domestic. Has 30 gates.
International Terminal: Smaller and less crowded. Has 14 gates.
The two terminals are next to each other. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk between the two. Note that there’s no airside transfer system, so any connecting flights are in practice treated independently, as point-to-point flights.
The terminals open at 5:00 AM and close at 11:00 PM daily. You may not stay in the airport overnight.
Free Wi-Fi and other services
Free WiFi is available throughout both terminals. Connect to either “Jeju_Airport Free Wi-Fi”, “KAC Free WiFi”, or “Jeju Free Wifi”, with the latter available in many places across the island, free of charge and unlimited. There’s only a quick registration but no password.
Other passenger services at CJU include:
ATMs: Available on Floor 1 and Floor 3.
Currency Exchange: Operated by Jeju Bank and located on both the 1st Floor and 3rd Floor, and opposite Gate 4.
Medical center: Located on the first floor of the Domestic Terminal, near Gate 3.
Pharmacy: Located on the third floor, next to Gate 1.
Family services: Diaper changing stations and nursing rooms located in the Domestic Terminal, near Gate 3 and near Gate 9.
Lost&Found: The office is on the first floor, open from 06:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
Tourist Information: There’s a desk on the first floor of the Domestic Terminal, open from 7 AM to 10 PM.
Lounges at Jeju Airport
Two of the largest airlines in South Korea maintain lounges at CJU:
Asiana Lounge: Located on 3F near the Asiana check-in counter, open from 5:05 AM to 8:40 PM. Complimentary to premium passengers of the airline and Star Alliance airlines.
Korean Air Lounge: Located on 3F near the Korean Air check-in counter, open to match the flight schedule. Complimentary to premium passengers of the airline, but also accepts lounge membership programs such as Priority Pass.
An independent Business Lounge is also available on 3F, open from 8:40 AM to 8:00 PM.
All three lounges are in the Domestic Terminal. The international one does not have any lounges.
Dining Options at CJU
In the Domestic Terminal, the dining options are concentrated after the Security Checkpoint. They include a food court with Korean food options, fast food chains, cafes, and convenience stores.
Some of the notable places are:
1950: A Chinese restaurant on 4F.
Frank Burger: Hamburgers and fries on 4F.
An aptly named Korean Restaurant and a food court with hawkers serving Korean Food on 4F.
Lotteria: South Korea’s number one fast food chain, popular with its unique burgers, located on 2F.
A Noodles Bar on 2F.
Egg Drop: A fast food chain specializing in egg meals, famous for its scrambled eggs style sandwich. Located on 1F.
Most places open around 7-8 AM and close around 9-10 PM. No option remains open overnight.
The international terminal has only one small “Asian Cook” restaurant located on 3F, after the Security check. It’s open between 6:30 AM and 10 PM.
Transport to and from Jeju Airport
The cheapest transport option is the numerous public buses that serve CJU and various points of interest throughout Jeju Island. These buses stop just outside Arrivals of both terminals. The easiest way to figure out which bus you need to take is to download Kakao or Naver Maps, where their routes are uploaded and reliable.
There is also the Jeju Airport Limousine bus 600, which departs twice per hour between 6 AM and 11 PM. Its stop is located a few meters right of Exit 5 of the Domestic Terminal. The Limousine bus makes 3 stops in the north of the island before heading straight to Jungmun Tourist Complex and then to Seogwipo, with over 25 stops in between. Tickets increase in proportion to distance, up to 5500 KRW.
Taxis are the most convenient option and are available around the clock in front of Arrivals. A taxi takes around 10-15 minutes to reach central Jeju City (costing ~9000 KRW) and up to an hour to reach Seogwipo (costing as much as 55.000 KRW) in the southern part of the island.
Renting a car is extremely popular in Jeju Island. There are three providers, Lotte Rent-a-car, TamRa Rent Car, and Jeju Rent Car, located next to Gate 2 on the first floor. To reach the rental car parking, exit at Gate 3 or Gate 5, proceed via the covered walkway to the shuttle bus stop, and take the shuttle provided by the rental company you chose.

Parking at Jeju Airport
Jeju Airport’s parking lots are located in front and on the west side of the Domestic Terminal and the Cargo Terminal.
P1 Parking Lot/Domestic Terminal Cargo Parking Lot: Charges a base fare of 600 KRW for the first 30 minutes, plus 200 KRW for each additional 10 minutes. The daily parking fee is 10.000 KRW during weekdays and 15.000 KRW during the weekends and on national holidays.
P2 Long-term Parking Parking Lot: Charges a base fare of 600 KRW for the first 30 minutes, plus 200 KRW for each additional 10 minutes. The daily parking fee is 8.000 KRW during weekdays and 12.000 KRW during the weekends and on national holidays.
The parking lots use license plate recognition systems. They remain open between 5:30 AM and the final aircraft operation time. For access outside of operational hours, you need to contact the airport.
Hotels near Jeju Airport
There is no hotel at Jeju Airport. However, owing to the island’s developed tourism infrastructure, accommodation options are plentiful and cater to different types of travelers.
Hotels and resorts line the coastline north of the airport. There are also many hotels in Jeju City, which is just 10-15 minutes away by taxi.
