Memmingen Airport (FMM), often marketed as Allgäu Airport Memmingen, is a small international airport in the State of Bavaria, Germany.
The airport is located 4 km east of Memmingen town and roughly 110 km west of Munich. It primarily serves the Allgäu region and parts of western Bavaria, but many travelers fly into it to reach Munich, because there are often cheaper flights owing to low-cost carriers.

Memmingen Airport surpassed its target of handling over 3.5 million passengers in 2025. It is the least busy of the three Bavarian Airports, after Munich Airport (MUC) and Nuremberg Airport (NUE).
Major Airlines - Ryanair, Wizz Air
Memmingen is dominated by two low-cost carriers, which fly on predominantly European routes:
Ryanair is the largest airline at FMM, with over 35 routes, of which more than 20 are offered year-round and the rest only seasonally.
Wizz Air, together with its subsidiary Wizz Air Malta, offers more than 25 routes, mostly to destinations in Central and Eastern Europe.

Other airlines, such as SunExpress, have only a handful of flights per month.
Memmingen sees a drastic increase in flights during the summer, when leisure demand picks up. Airlines such as TUI fly Deutschland, Eurowings, and Aegean Airlines offer seasonal services mainly to Mediterranean holiday destinations.

Terminal Layout and Gates
Memmingen Airport has just one terminal.
There are in total 7 manned check-in counters, 4 self-bag-drop counters for passengers of low-cost carriers, and 12 gates:
Gates 1-7 (Zone A) are for Schengen flights. They are on the ground floor
Gates 23-25, plus Gate 8/26 (Zone B), are for non-Schengen flights. They are on the upper floor.

There are no jetbridges and all boarding is via buses or by walking.
The terminal is quite small, and the walk from the Check-in hall, through Security, to reach the gates is short.
The airport opens two hours before the first flight of the day and closes one hour after the last flight of the day (usually 3 AM to 11 PM). Staying within the terminal overnight is not allowed.
Free Wi-Fi and other services
Memmingen Airport offers free Wi-Fi in both the public and airside areas of the terminal, without any time restrictions. To connect, select either the ‘FREE smartONE WIFI’ or the ‘@BayernWLAN’ network, and you can surf - no registration necessary.
Other passenger services at FMM include:
Sparkasse ATM in the Arrivals Hall.
Information Desk: Located in the Arrivals Hall. It’s also possible to get a VAT refund here if you’re a non-EU passenger.
Luggage Wrapping: Available near the Information Desk with prices between 6 and 10 EUR, depending on the size of the bag.
Lockers: Available opposite the Terminal. Can be rented short-term or for several days. Only cards are accepted as payment.

Lost & Found: Located in the Arrivals Hall.
Smoking area: Only allowed in designated areas such as the beer garden and the smoking cabin near Gate 1.
Playground and play areas: A wooden playground designed by the local company Cucumaz is located east of the terminal. Additionally, a Ravensburger Spieleland play area with interactive games and puzzles is in the non-Schengen area.

Lounges
Memmingen Airport does not have any lounges.
Dining Options at Memmingen Airport
Dining options at Memmingen Airport are limited, expectedly so, given the small size of the terminal.
Campus Suite is a café and snack bar in the public area of the terminal, offering coffee, sandwiches, baked goods, and simple meals.
Still, many choose to visit Berger's Park Beer Garden, which is within walking distance of the terminal, and offers a wide variety of local food, bar fare, and beers on tap.
After Security, 3 small cafés sell coffee and other soft drinks, as well as cold snacks, pastries, and sandwiches:
Coffee Fellows: Near Gate 5. Also features a small beer garden area with views of the apron.
Spresso Caffébar
There are also several vending machines and small manned snack bars where you can buy something last-minute before your flight.
Transport to and from the airport
To reach Memmingen, you can take the Memmingen Airport City Shuttle. It runs every 30 minutes in each direction, between 04:10 and 23:10. The bus stops right in front of the terminal. Single tickets cost 3.50 EUR, which is included in any train tickets you may have booked connecting at Memmingen railway station.
Local bus lines 2 and 810 also stop at the airport, with routes linking it to the city center and the railway station, where you can connect to Deutsche Bahn trains bound for Munich, Augsburg, and other German cities, as well as Swiss Federal Railways trains to Bregenz, Zurich, and onwards.

To travel directly to Munich, the best way is to take the Allgäu Airport Express, which is a non-stop direct service with ticket prices starting at 9.99 EUR.
Flixbus also provides long-distance services to several German cities, and the bus station is also in front of the terminal.
The taxi ranks are right in front of the terminal in the entrance area. The official taxi companies at FMM are Taxi Diddelcar, Taxi Fekler, and Taxi Maier. The approximate fare to the city center is 15-20 EUR.
Car rental companies present at Memmingen Airport include Avis/Budget, Enterprise/Alamo/National, Europcar / Buchbinder, Sixt, and Flex-to-go. Their desks are consolidated in a car hire centre opposite the terminal, while the rental cars themselves are in a designated car park.
Parking at Memmingen Airport
Memmingen Airport has an official parking facility, P1, which doubles as a Kiss&Fly area.
Directly in front of the terminal, you can drop off or pick up passengers, with no parking charges for the first 10 minutes, up to twice per day. This Kiss&Fly area is directly connected to the main parking garage, P1.
Inside P1, parking is charged as follows:
10-30 minutes: 5 EUR
31-60 minutes: 10 EUR
61-120 minutes: 15 EUR
Each hour thereafter: 10 EUR
There are several charging stations for electric vehicles of varying outputs. You don’t have to pay for parking for as long as you’re charging your vehicle, but you may not leave it unattended. If you want to leave your car parked and unattended, you need to park in a regular parking spot.
Other covered and uncovered parking facilities are also available and suitable for longer stays, due to their cheaper rates. Notably, the FMM parking garage offers weekly parking for as little as 37 EUR and is served by a free shuttle that can take you directly to the terminal in 8 minutes.
